Original member of Roomful of Blues, longtime writing partner and sideman for Duke Robillard, Al Basile writes songs in classic blues and roots styles with a fresh lyrical perspective. Groovinâ in the Mood Room is a followup to his successful 2005 title Blue Ink, and features Al singing thirteen of his songs with world class backing - Duke on all guitar parts and piano (his first recorded solo), frequent Robillard mate Marty Ballou on electric bass, and current Duke Robillard Band drummer Mark Teixeira.

The stripped down rhythm section allows Duke free rein to create guitar parts which complement the strong grooves.
