In 2005, singer/songwriter Dani Raushi teamed up with Crutey (drummer for Aussie rock band FULL SCALE) to write a collection of acoustic tracks. They didn't know it at the time, but those relaxed writing sessions on Venice beach would lead to the creation of the melodic/rock outfit AMPHETAME.
Dani is no newbie when it comes to performing either. She has been singing for as long as she can remember and grew up performing in various talent shows and pageants. At 19, she got selected to sing her original music for a mini-musical that toured Italy called, "Made In America".
Over the last 3 years, Dani has met and become friends with several Australian acts including FULL SCALE, THE BUTTERLY EFFECT, KARNIVOOL and COG. All these bands have greatly inspired Amphetameâs music.
In mid-2006, Dani flew to Australia to demo her songs with local Aussie musicians. Crutey provided the beat and suggested his good friends Ben Brennan (bass) and Tristan Ross (guitar) to play on the recording. A visit from The Butterfly Effect vocalist Clint Boge resulted in hauntingly beautiful backing vocals on the track âGlass Rideâ.
This seriously fun, yet productive session at Sing Sing, produced a remarkable 7 track demo that caught the attention of US producer Mark Renk, who offered to work with Dani on producing her debut album. What came next was 18 months of blood, sweat and tears in his LA studio, writing new songs and perfecting an already impressive collection of demos.
Amphetame have teamed up with Greg Chapman (former Executive of Warner Bros.) to form a joint venture record label with UrbanTone Records.
"Truth In Lies" is scheduled for release in March 2008 and to celebrate, Amphetame are touring Australia in March, April and May before taking their live show across America and ultimately the globe!
Currently, Dani is writing two news songs with Marcos Curiel. Guitarist of P.O.D. Plans to record and release soon. Good friend, Page Hamiliton, of Helmet, has asked Amphetame to open for them in Melbourne, Australia ending the Amphetame Australian tour with a real rockin bang!
