Awesome Car Funmakerâs third album is titled âE for Everyone.â ACF claims both title and album are commentaries on the human condition in the arctic Midwestern United States at the beginning of the 21st century. Oscillating between themes of disillusionment with war, religion and love affairs, âE for Everyoneâ centers on the banality of Midwestern life and the desire to escape. This same desire inundates the lyrics past the borders of the United States, Costa Rica and finally, with ostentatious hyperbole, to Mars.
Song titles âDonât Tryâ, âDivided States of the Absurd,â and âAnt County Fairâ appear to back up the claim. After listening to E for Everyone, it is apparent that there are more bombastic yet euphonious sonic textures in comparison to ACFâs 2006 release âOf Lovers and Monsters.â However, party anthems like âBreak out the Cake,â âEscape or Explodeâ and âNasa or CIAâ are evidence that ACF has not let go of their punk-dance-rock flavors that their fans have come to expect. Consummate DIY, rock, road-warriors out of Madison, Wisconsin, and ACF has played over 250 shows from Minneapolis to New York since 2003 in various clubs, universities and all ages venues.
