Despite their humble description, their music rings with an obvious desire to fill the world with something much more wondrous than the current mind set of the masses. FUNKLOGIC paints a new set of ideals, revisits the wisdom that consumed the musical worlds of the past, and embraces the fantastic cross-section of talent, musical, and cultural diversity that they are.

And in the midst of all this powerful musical accomplishment, FUNKLOGIC stays true to their proclaimed mission: their quickly growing mass of followers love the consuming flight into this intelligently innovative, almost psychedelic "refined groove"; fans are pulled into a luring blend of funk, reggae, house, and amazing impromptu jams- all of it laden thick with sex, love, energizing nostalgia, and "dirty indulgence".

FUNKLOGIC formed over two years ago. They came together as a collective of San Francisco's newest generation of studied and skilled musicians. Through their collaboration, Gabe Mangold (bass guitar), Gabe Marquez (vocals and keys), Derek Brooker (guitar), and Negmeddin Shaheen (drums and vocals)have formed an impressive sound: original and established- a perfect yet evolving synthesis of the two contrary forces of "funk" and "logic". Combining their foundation of intense musical knowledge and training with a pure desire to just "get down".

Their Dirty Grooves have been received with nothing but enthusiasm and love. In their time together FUNKLOGIC has participated in the 2002 SF Funk Festival, headlined at The Boom Boom Room, The Red Devil Lounge, The El Rio, The Last Day Saloon, Tounge and Groove, The Oakland Metro, Blake's in Berkeley, Jupiter's in Walnut Creek, The Baltic in Pt. Richmond, Plant 51 in San Jose, held weekly gigs at the Gold Coast Grill, and a myriad of private parties and events. By early Febuary 2003, FUNKLOGIC will be releasing their highly-anticipated and independently-produced debut album.

Their funky ingenuity combined with their lovingly optimistic, yet realistic vision for the future, has built a groovin'-good-times feel-good vibe attracting a growing collective of fashion designers, painters, graphic artists, web-desingers, dancers, film-makers, djs, other musicians, fans and friends from San Francisco's youthful adult sector who are bent on contributing to the growth and momentum of FUNKLOGIC's music. This FUNKLOGIC Family has converted the musical talent of a local band into the next San Franciscan musical movement, another gathering of thought, change, love, and unity.
