The Eigenvalues is the solo project of Matt Durante. The Day We Took Vegas is Durante's first effort and includes cameos by fellow musicians from the University of Chicago. He began this particular musical journey fiddling with sound module equipment used by progressive DJs. An idea came about to blend the sonic templates of breakbeats, Chapel Hill indie rock, and gospel music. The result was a 24 minute EP which modestly attempts to push the boundaries of pop music.
