FUNCTION formed in June 2000 in Cairns, Far North Queensland Australia. Their seminal days in Cairns gave them the opportunity to support touring bands such as George, The Daisycutters, Shutterspeed and The Butterfly Effect. They went on to win the SEA FM Rock challenge in 2002 over a veritable plethora of other bands. The band recorded a well received demo E.P in 2002 which garnered such press reviews as "An intelligent blend of atmospheric rock", "an innovative breath of fresh air and musicality"and "One of the regions most exciting prospects". In Early 2003 Function were signed to Pandamonium Records and recorded their debut album, "Test Pilot".
