Fen has laboured for a decade on three recordings. The latest, Congenital Fixation (â06) is a Freudian-esque phantasmagoria, an acid drop into the subconscious, vividly rendered. Before this, came Heron Leg (â03), a story of incest and matricide, which Discorder Magazine has called âone of those great CDs the listener can get into more and more deeply as buried details are unearthed.â Three years prior, the debut release, Surgical Transfusion of Molting Sensory Reflections (â00), identified Fen as âthe only band of its kind on the coastâ (The Nerve Magazine), likely due to the abundance of odd time signatures and through-composed song forms.

A fourth album is anticipated for early â09, as Fen extracts itself into the acoustic medium.
