Biography of jose lopez -composer-songwriter-publisher
jose was born in mexico city,mexico on the 29th of january 1930. His parents were joseph lopez muniz and ida schlueter lopez. His father was a professional musician who played
the piano with the orchestra at radio station xew during
daytime programming and in the orchestra at the el patio
nightclub located on an exclusive strip of paseo reforma
boulevard. His formative years were spent in a musical
environment of latin jazz and romantic ballads. At six years of age, pepito (family nickname) made his singing
debut at station xew with a beautiful ballad "enquietud"
on a saturday program for children. In 1936 late in november he and his family moved to st. Louis, missouri, since his mother wished an american education. His father wanted him to study electrical engineering, but jose never forgot his love for music. Little by little melodies started to run through his mind
and did not start documenting until he found himself humming or singing five or six different ballads. He is presently an off duty third class radio operator aboard
the u. S. S. Trigger hunter killer submarine 400 feet below
the surface in the midle of the Atlantic ocean, now at age
24. All rough manuscripts had to be checked, for there was
no piano available until the boat pulled into port, for
r & r. There was always a piano at uso clubs, local churches or taverns. Jose completed his tour of duty with
submarine squadron ten (in connecticut) attended college
using the g. I. Bill and began his career as an electrical
designer. Today jose has taken retirement from engineering
and is dedicating all of his time in writing and producing
music, and has founded a company called "joseph arnold lopez" jose lopez is married to virginia parun and they make their home in concord, california.
