A fun Calypso about going away on holiday â or by just imagining you are there â relieving the tedium and giving you mental rest: sometimes itâs all you can do when you canât get away. In fact thatâs how I came to write the song â just imagining being away on holiday in Fiji, Hawaii, anywhere in the Pacific or The Caribbean â or you choose your favourite Island. Also my lovely husband David early in our marriage did actually come home one day and surprise me with tickets to go away on holiday. That is a great fun memory.

Love Is All Too Easy

I got hooked on those Real-Life TV Shows that have the girls all competing for the affections of 1 man. I couldnât help watch even though I thought how can they possibly think they will find the love of their life this way?! Seemed too easy. But why not?!

On the other hand â when things go wrong - how often we just walk away from trying to work it out? Seems easier option, but if you only do try and work it out the outcome can be so much more rewarding and lasting. Ask yourselves seriously: âDo I really wish to live in this world without them being at my side?â If the answer comes right away âNoâ then you know you should try and work it out. The only case I think this doesnât work is if your partner is constantly unfaithful â show them the door!

Norma Martin is based in Sydney Australia and started performing as a singer on TV at the age or 15 and has always been a songwriter. Singing took her to work in various parts of the world like all over Australia, New Zealand, Noumea (8 months), Vietnam (to The U.S. Forces in 1969 for 5 months), London for 4 years. Loving to travel, she and husband David have been to The United States a few times, which they love and taking in the New York Jazz, and all the art and shows.

Norma took 17 years off from singing to be a stay-at-home Mum and had the good fortune to be able to concentrate on raising a family, a son Andrew and a daughter Sarah, who are now in their twenties, with husband David Martin. She couldnât stop writing though and all of these songs were written during that time.

One song that has gained Norma Martin recognition as a songwriter is a Jazz Ballad âIntroduce Me To Your Friendâ which has been recorded in The United States by wonderful Jazz Artist Mitzi Zilka, whose great version of this song may be found on her album âSomething Goodâ on this CD Baby website. âIntroduce Me To Your Friendâ was originally recorded by foremost Australian Jazz singer Emma Pask on her album âThis Madness Called Loveâ.
