My fourth science and nature educational CD, Science On The Wild Side Gets Wilder!, continues with the theme âlearning should be entertaining and funâ. This CD contains songs about Geography (Jump, Jive Geography and Funky Map Rap), Zoology (Fiddler Crab Jamboree, DoDo Doo-Wop, Hummingbird Karaoke Night, Sea Turtle Run, Rain Forest Toucan Band, Whirligig Beetle Swirlinâ Whirlinâ Boogie, Loco Komodo, and Platypus Funky Waddle), Earth Science (A Reason For The Seasons), Ecology (Monkey See, Monkey Donât), Botany (Wild, Wild Weeds), Physiology (In My Dreams), plus a type of environment that most of us, at some point of our lives, have often migrated to at the end of the summer season (Back To School) â should we call it Schoolology? Like my other science CDs, thereâs a wide variety of musical styles on the CD (rock, rap, country, bluegrass, reggae, and even a doo-wop type song) with lots of humor added. The songs are great teaching tools that can be used with class work lessons as well as in science and geography skits and plays â the National Science Foundation has told me that they enjoy the songs and the free, biweekly science podcast that I do. As a teacher, Iâve always believed that there should be lots of creativity in a classroom so that it should be a big part of the student's learning environment. After all, if students are having fun learning, they will be more motivated and eager to learn.
