Born in Akron, Ohio, Gary began exploring the piano keyboard when he was five years old and has been composing and playing his own music since that time. He has released 6 albums of relaxing, original instrumental music in new age, easy listening and pop music styles.

During college in the '60's, he worked in a recording studio for film, and his music clearly shows an influence from his interest and love of music for film. Gary graduated from Oberlin College in 1970 as a film major, and first worked in film production and television, including a few years in the early 70's with Allen Funt in NYC as editor of Candid Camera.

Gary was a writer, painter, and a pioneer in computer-based education, simulations and interactive, graphical software systems and consulting in the 70's and early 80's. Subsequently he worked in strategic planning, software product develoment and in building consulting practices for two of the big 4 consulting/accounting firms, writing and recording music as time permitted.

Gary current lives in the Atlanta, GA area with his wife and two small dogs and composes, experiments and records in his personal studio there.
