Steve has been well know as a professional trumpet player in the Central Florida area for twenty three years. A native of Kentucky, he graduated from the University Of Kentucky, where he studied with Walt Blanton and Vinnie DiMartino. He later graduated with a Masters from the Eastman School Of Music, where he studied with Ray Wright, Manny Album, and Bill Dobbins. He is a familiar face in the trumpet sections of Buddy Morrow's Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Terry Myer's Big Band, and Don Scaletta's Jazz Project. Steve also spent many years working in bands on the riverboats out of New Orleans, and is well versed in traditional dixieland jazz.
Most of the players on "Mahogany Hall Stomp" are well known on the traditional dixieland jazz festival circuit. They include Steve Walters trumpet, Terry Myers clarinet, Pat Gulatta trombone, Jeff Lashway, Chris Rottmayer piano, Charlie Silva, Bobby Brennan bass, Paul Scarvatta banjo and guitar, and Eddie Metz Jr drums.
