If you ask Portland-based pop-punk band t-reXXXa where their name originates, youâll get a variety of answers from the genuine, âI donât knowâ to the sarcastic, âDonât you know weâre a T.Rex cover band?â In actuality, the name was swiped from a friend of a friend of a friendâs online screen name. Ah, technology.

t-reXXXa was formed in the summer of 2004 in the sweltering basement of a NE Portland punk house. Former New Yorker and Bostonian Cort (drums) and lifelong Portlander Zero (viola and bass) had been playing together for over a year when they found themselves in need of a third. After a few comical Craigslist recruits were deemed not a good fit, the two recruited Leigh (guitar and bass), a North Carolina native and former member of the now defunct Portland band Drastic Plastic.

Following a successful run of high-energy performances, t-reXXXa began writing its first full-length record. In the Style of... contains a large serving of powerful, crunchy, danceable pop gems topped with a heavy dose of political commentary, and served with a heaping side of humor.
