Lorraine Bowen is a fabulous entertainer, songwriter and performer. This is her first release made way back in 1995 when easy listening was just starting to make a come-back. Lorraine had worked with political singer songwriter, Billy Bragg on many of his albums and he encouraged her to start up on her own and this is the result!

In this first album are classic bossa novas: Bicycle Adventure and Sunday Afternoon Sex which will get you racing along with their catchy melodies, top-notch, up tempo percussion sections and no-expense spared production sounds enhanced by the imaginative use of knobs in the sound booth.

Oh-so-chic, chiffoned ballads, Julie Christie (since used in the film, BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE) and the mustn't-be-missed morning moment Cup of Tea in Bed are included for sheer, see-through sensitivity.

If a bit of poignant politics is what you're after, flick to the waltz-time gem Pier Song and the fab fem anthem, Bet Down the Launderette; stimulating stuff with style.
