Reed Barrett was born and raised in Austin, TX. Piano lessons were the name, rebellion against classical music was the game. Reed picked up several instruments during his escapade of 12 years of piano lessons. He says that "It's amazing how the piano truly feels like the root of all music. If you understand how it works on the keys, you can truly understand not simply to play, but master any instrument."

His style has developed through some major influences such as Steely Dan, Jackson Browne, Ben Folds, Stevie Wonder, Jeff Buckley, John Mayer, and the FreeCreditReport.com commercials.

Reed attended the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS where he played in a few acts throughout his 4 year tenure. He spent most of his time in Oxford getting acquainted with the beauty that is the blues.

Reed currently resides in his hometown of Austin, TX. He plays keyboards in Baker Hotel, an up and coming band in the Central Texas area.
