The Big Fat Get My File software allows digital download sellers to disguise
the actual location of their downloadable files on their web servers. Any name can be given to the subdirectory where the files are stored. This helps
prevent data thieves from typing in their browser the name of your domain,
i.e. http.//yourdomain.com/downloads/ and having free access to your
products without having to pay for them. You could store all your product downloads in a subdirectory called mickeymouse and no one would know
where to find them.
I was impressed with the simplicity of the process. The user has to just
change one small section of script relating to the download files location and then simply upload the script to their server. The instructions are easy to understand and implement.
When the seller furnishes the download link to the purchaser, the actual link is disguised and does not reveal the actual location of the file.
Your web server MUST have support for PHP for the script to work, however.
If you do not know if your server supports PHP, check with your website host. And, if you dont know how to upload files or how to edit simple text files, you will need to get assistance in setting up this simple script. But, in my opinion, using this script will be well worth it.
