For the past 15 years, gfire has performed as a professional musician - as a singer, songwriter, DJ and keyboardist. She began her career touring in cover bands, traveling through many of the 50 states. After settling in Austin, Texas in 1992, she concentrated on her songwriting, releasing a critically acclaimed album, "Looking For Alex," in 1995 (produced by 60's legend, Arthur Brown, "the God of Hellfire"). Having begun her DJ career with a bang seven years ago, placing eighth in a statewide contest on her second gig, gfire remains one of only a handful of female turntablists in Texas. She's recently switched her focus to co-producing vocal drum 'n' bass, downtempo and progressive house tracks and she plans to incorporate her love of both DJ'ing and singing into her sets. She has performed in the United States, Canada and England, sharing stages with the likes of Uberzone, X-Dream, Victor Dinaire of Logic Records, D:Fuse and others. She has also contributed articles to URB and Feedback magazines, covering the Austin electronic music scene, as well as artist interviews and trance and progressive house reviews.
