ALL LEVELS: BEGINNER through ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE. A QuickTime video tutorial by Adam Gussow (of Satan and Adam) that helps you diagnose and correct a series of problems that the great majority of blues harp players confront in their quest to develop a large, clear, strong sound.
Embouchure, articulation, the variables that govern the shape of the resonating cavity inside your mouth, and of course vibrato: these are some of the issues Gussow addresses. Many players, as Gussow observes, are trapped into over-busy playing by their unconscious desire to keep time on the harmonica; Gussow shows you how to keep time elsewhere, freeing up the harp to play soaring longer notes with superior tone.
Note: unlike most lessons from Modern Blues Harmonica, this lesson does NOT have an accompanying tab sheet.

Adam. This is what I have been missing. The section on Vibrato answered a lot of my questions. I could not figure out how to get that warm full vibrato.
The other parts were very helpful as well. I sometimes would get a flat thin tone. Other times it would be fine. I now know that my harmonica isnt broke. It was the operator.
I have lots of new techniques to practice. I would highly recommend this lesson to anyone trying to improve their tone.
Thanks for putting it all out there.
