Amanda Kate was born Amanda Kathleen Smith in Palm Springs, Ca on January 7th 1987, but grew up in a place she likes to call âEVERYWHEREâ. Amanda traveled all over with her mother, Mary Kathleen Wright who's legal name is now Kathy Gipson was a very astounding singer/songwriter/performer, her mother had the opportunity to work with many talented people such as Dean Martin & The Golddiggers, Bob Hope, Bob Seger, Don Henley, Vicki Carr, Lucille Ball, Anne Margaret, Etcâ¦Like daughter like mother, Amanda quickly followed in her mothers footsteps as a singer/songwriter/performer.

For many rhythm and blues entertainers, she began performing in church at a very young age where her voice would find a lifelong home and inspiration. Amanda sang every chance she had and it wasnât hard for people to see that this little girl was born to be a star. As a teenager she began singing outside of the church in a three girl country group striving for success in the music industry, the group recorded one full album, traveled all over southern California and parts of the east coast and named themselves âWildflowerâ. Later the group split up and Amanda decided to make a name for herself as a solo artist. Ryan Smith her manager encouraged her to record a solo album and two years later through all her hard work the product has arrived. Amanda makes her living with a combination of sporadic session work as a mostly anonymous voice on various records and live shows for Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, and a handful of day jobs which included stints as both a front desk clerk for Marriott Hotels, and as a Nanny for various families, etcâ¦she has worked hard over the years coming into her own as an artist and developing a unique musical style. Her new debut album âAmanda Kate Nothing to Proveâ was written by herself and two members of her band Dan Salas and Drew Masterpole. The album was produced by Dan and Drew as well. As of right now she is making a household name for herself on the independent circuit playing shows and doing what she does best, which is, perform. We are all very excited to see what is in store for this young upcoming artist.
