"Fusing melodic, 80's style arena-metal with the hellcat grandeur of Lacuna Coil, the Madison metallions chase an epic, mildly progressive sound on their debut. This five-piece revolves around aggro-crooner Shannon Brokish, whose explosive lead is most effective when she takes on the fiery cadence of Melissa Etheridge (as unlikely a comparison as that seems) at her brassiest. With songs like "Slave," "Psycho Girl," and "Mister Asshole," Brokish Seems primarily interested in the ways we abuse each other-- and in the case of the S&M rhapsody "DV8," the ways we abuse each other for pleasure."

From June to December of 2004, at Madison Media Institute, Gibbous recorded these tracks using state-of-the-art studio equipment. Thanks to the talents of Ron Dettwiler (co-producer), Mark Whitcomb (mixing engineer, DNA Studios), and Trevor Sadler (mastering engineer, Mastermind Productions), we were able to achieve the kind of exciting sound that the we had dreamed of. We are certain that our fans will be delighted with this CD. Without a doubt, this is the album we've always wanted to make.

The band: Gibbous is a melodic, dark, hard rock band based out of Madison, Wisconsin. Our sound has been compared to that of Alice in Chains, Danzig, and Tool. Our goal is to provide every audience with a musical stage experience they will not soon forget.

Gibbous formed in April of 2003 with the purpose of creating a unique, true-to-self, original act intended to be an expressive conduit for our musicians, yet focused for the benefit of the live music fan. Out of our diverse inspirations and influences, we have delivered a heavy-rock flavor full of mesmerizing melodies and lyrics.

Since then, we have been busy entertaining crowds in the Madison, Janesville, Milwaukee and Rockford areas with a powerful repertoire of over 15 original songs, a seven track EP and our debut album. Gibbous has appeared at the best live music venues in Wisconsin and supported nationally touring acts including All the Pretty Horses, Cherry Monroe, Damage Plan, Dry Kill Logic, HED (pe), Pigmy Love Circus, Shadows Fall, and Sixty Cycle. Our ever-growing legion of Patsies and Wenches keep coming back for more because they know we aim to please. Our stage show will continue to effloresce until it erupts and establishes itself as an over-the-top, musical, and energetic stage show that night clubs in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota will long remember!
