Sounds like Billy Joel but without the Billy; my music cuts like a knife then heals like warm springs.
10 MP3 Songs
BLUES: Blues Vocals, EASY LISTENING: Love Songs
Details:
As a young teenager I wrote my first song on a nylon-string guitar while locked in my bedroom (hiding from my then annoying family). The song was called Show Me The Way and sounded a lot like a song that was written later by Peter Frampton. I knew when I heard Peter Frampton make a big splash with a similar song that I had some real talent. I kept writing and dreaming over the years, especially while in college (wrote profusely my junior and senior years). After college I eventually left my full-time job and currently make a living primarily as a "singing DJ," spending my spare time writing and producing my own music.
Where I've Been is my first all original CD and is an interesting blend of past and present, going back as far as 1990 and as current as last year. I feel like a late bloomer because I'm already over 30: thus the name of my album: Where I've Been. I compare my album in title and spirit a lot to Surfacing by Sara McLachlan.
As crazy as this sounds my musical influences reach as far as Rush (my favorite band of all time)! As a singer/songwriter my biggest influences are probably Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, Neil Diamond, and, yes, Nelly Furtado! However, I've been influenced by all styles from Blues to classical to Latin music (I'm from Miami, FL after all!). In fact, some of my tracks attempt to blend classical and pop in some rather interesting ways.
Overall I guess I'm a male solo singer/songwriter for and from the heart. Human emotion, reality, nature, and artistic candor are the primary elements of my work. But, please, decide for yourself!
