BIO/Fact Sheet_ Hereâs a little background: Gaylaâ¦â¦ has been in the music industry for over twenty years. She has been singing and entertaining since the age of 3. At the age of twelve, she started her professional career with a young gospel group called "The Truthettes" from Oklahoma City, OK in 1981. The group attained a major record deal with Malaco Records of Jackson, MS. She recorded five albums with the group with the most notable Hit âPeanut Butter and Jellyâ, the group traveled all across the country performing with such artists as: The Legendary Mighty Clouds of Joy, Reverend Al Green, and Ms. Shirley Ceasar just to name a few.

Shortly, after her five-year tenure had ended. She then began singing with a contemporary gospel group called "The Friends" of Oklahoma City, Ok, whom also traveled with many of the same artists mentioned above. After the group received itâs first recording deal they were only able to stay together for Self tilted albumâFriends â but the members remain friend today.
Several years later, she moved to Dallas, TX where she ventured out into a new direction as a solo R&B artist. During that time she managed to work with such artist as Joe, Tony Thompson, Carl Thomas, Dave Hollister and many others. Pursuing her love to sing New York City was next for her in 1995, where she performed at the very prestigious nightclub âChaz & Wilsonâs â, were she was fortunate to met Mr. Ron Grant of Sony Music. Mr. Grant was so taken by Gaylaâs talent that by the end of 1995 she was on her way to Tokyo, Japan for a five week tour with Ron Grant and Friends starring Cheryl "Pepsi" Riley. Upon her return to New York she was offered a solo record deal with a independent label. But, unfortunately she decided to decline due to family and contractual issues.
Now itâs time to share the experience of her lessons with the heartfelt stories and testimonies. By paying tribute to Gods power and guidance.
