My Sweet Patootie takes a quirky, light-hearted approach to their all original song-writing as a vehicle to explore life in rural and small town Ontario. They tackle everything from the environment, urban pressures, and poverty all the way down to singing dogs and how to get rid of someone you donât like.

Sandra Swannell and Terry Young met in 2006 as members of the Canadian folk-roots phenomenon Tanglefoot (Borealis) and discovered a mutual but unrequited love of swinginâ acoustic roots music. Out of that shared interest My Sweet Patootie grew with great musical chemistry and a complete set of complimentary musical skills.

Terry Young is a dynamic performer who makes a connection with his audience through humorous story telling and an aggressive, creative approach to finger-style guitar. His sound and song-writing have been a central feature of Tanglefoot performances and recordings since 1999. Terry also released his first solo CD, Letting Go of the Weight of the World, in April 2005.

From recording with the legendary Stompinâ Tom Connors, to writing a suite of musical sketches for string orchestra, to her high-octane performances with Tanglefoot, Sandra Swannell has been living a diverse musical life. She was the principal violist of the Georgian Bay Symphony as well as a member of its professional string quartet until 2004. She has shared the stage with the likes of Rick Emmitt, Steve Fox, Steve Dickinson, Wendell Ferguson and Billy Jonas. For years her song-writing, fiery fiddle style and dynamic stage performances were showcased in the contemporary Celtic folk-rock band, The Shards.
