Dave Gunning has quickly become one of Canada's best up-and-coming singer-songwriters. A charismatic performer and compelling storyteller, Dave infuses his unique blend of sensitive folk and innovative arrangements to his original and traditional heartfelt songs.

With an extensive catalogue of original material, Dave has released six award winning recordings, his latest project âHouse For Saleâ (released October 2007), âDave Gunning Christmasâ (2006), âTwo-Bit World" (2004), âDave Gunning Live" (2002), âCaught Between Shadows" (2000) and âLost Tracks" (1996).

Daveâs fifth solo CD , âTwo-bit Worldâ (released 2004) garnered him two Awards - ECMA Folk Recording of the Year and a second Award from Music Nova Scotia in the same category. Daveâs co-write, âPrince of Pictouâ (co-written with Jamie Robinson) was awarded First Place Winner in the Folk category in the International Acoustic Music Awards and received an honorable mention in the USA Songwriting Competition.

Gunningâs previous recordings, âCaught Between Shadowsâ and âLost Tracksâ, were also nominated in the Roots/Traditional category at the ECMAâs in their respective years. The support was enhanced when his video for his song âHere She Comes a Runningâ from his CD, âCaught Between Shadowsâ was picked up by CMT Canadaâs Celtic Country program.

In 2002, Dave had the incredible experience of performing on a 22-date sold-out tour with Canadian music legend Stompinâ Tom Connors. The pairing proved to be a good one, as the spicy East Coasters were a great mix. That same year, Gunning released the album Live, and picked up three Music Nova Scotia Awards for Producer, Engineer and Recording Studio of the Year (for his studio, Riverfront Studioâs). In 2003, the accolades continued as he was awarded the prestigious Music Nova Scotia Musician of the Year Award.

Dave continues to tour throughout Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Denmark performing at special festivities, house concerts, songwriterâs venues, theatres and at numerous international festivals and showcasing events. Additionally, Dave has performed as special guest with good friend and country star, George Canyon on his Canadian tours (fall 2006 and Christmas 2005) and with INXS at the Halifax Metro Centre (May 2006).
