Dave Gunning has been acclaimed as one of Canadaâs best up-and-coming singer-songwriters. Dave continues to tour throughout Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Denmark performing at special festivities, house concerts, songwriterâs venues, theatres and at numerous international festivals and showcasing events. With an extensive catalogue of original material, Dave has released six award winning recordings, his latest project âHouse For Saleâ (released October 2007), âDave Gunning Christmasâ (2006), âTwo-Bit World" (2004), âDave Gunning Live" (2002), âCaught Between Shadows" (2000) and âLost Tracks" (1996).

Daveâs original song,â Here She Comes a Runningâ (from his CD, Caught Between Shadows) was featured on the "Atlantic Standards 2â CD release (distributed by Warner Music) celebrating some of the finest musical talent from Eastern Canada. His touching rendition of the classic â A Dream That Can Lastâ debuts on the two CD compilation "Borrowed Tunes 2: A Canadian Tribute to Neil Youngâ (Universal Music) with a variety of Canadaâs top recording artists including, the Barenaked Ladies, Raine Maida, Tom Cochrane, Ron Sexsmith, Liam Titcomb, and Finger Eleven to name a few. On a lighter front, Dave also appeared in two episodes of the hit TV show âTrailer Park Boysâ playing the role of the forest ranger (summer 2007) broadcast on the Showcase Network.

Gunningâs 2006 Christmas release, fittingly titled, Dave Gunning Christmas features the popular original track, âDaddyâs Beer,â (co-written with Jamie Robinson) which became a huge hit with fans who discovered the sweet, silly holiday tale when Gunning played it on Canyonâs 2005 Christmas tour and 2006 fall tour. The song has gone on to become a favorite with country radio programmers and listeners during the holiday season.

2005 marked a very successful year for Dave, picking up two awards for his recording, Two-Bit World - ECMA Folk Recording of the Year and a second Award from Music Nova Scotia in the same category. Daveâs co-write, âPrince of Pictouâ (co-written with Jamie Robinson) was awarded First Place Winner in the Folk category in the International Acoustic Music Awards and received an honorable mention in the USA Songwriting Competition.

Gunningâs previous recordings, âCaught Between Shadowsâ and âLost Tracksâ, were also nominated in the Roots/Traditional category at the ECMAâs in their respective years. The support was enhanced when his video for his song âHere She Comes a Runningâ from his CD, âCaught Between Shadowsâ was picked up by CMT Canadaâs Celtic Country program.

In 2002, Dave had the incredible experience of performing on a 22-date sold-out tour with Canadian music legend Stompinâ Tom Connors. The pairing proved to be a good one, as the spicy East Coasters were a great mix. That same year, Gunning released the album Live, and picked up three Music Nova Scotia Awards for Producer, Engineer and Recording Studio of the Year (for his studio, Riverfront Studioâs). In 2003, the accolades continued as he was awarded the prestigious Music Nova Scotia Musician of the Year Award.
