Details:
"Without doubt this is one of the most exciting records that I've heard in a long time - the first time I heard the Go Set's album it knocked me for six - and that feeling hasn't changed. It oozes attitude - and how can you pass up a band with bagpipes." (Stuart Coupe - Laughing Outlaw)

Singer/songwriter J.Keenan formed The Go Set in February 2001. Since its inception, The Go Set has released an independent EP 'Welcome To The New Dimension' and toured extensively, playing local Australian and international shows and appearing on such festivals as the Falls Festival in Victoria. The single "Hey Good Morning" from that EP featured heavily on US College Radio in 2002.

In April of this year, The Go Set headed into Birdland Studios in Melbourne with producer Lindsay Gravina (Living End, Spiderbait, Magic Dirt) to record the new album. According to the band, 'Sing A Song Of Revolution' is the first release that the band feels truly reflects their live experience. It's raw, energetic, and ferocious with most of the tracks deliberately performed and recorded in only one take.

The Go Set combine many folk and traditional influences, such as bagpipes and mandolin, with early seventies punk rock. They cite influences such as The Pogues, Weddings Parties Anything (members of which feature on this new record), The Clash, and Radio Birdman, as the most influential groups in their music, and have a particularly Australian social and political emphasis within their lyrics.

Commercial success comes to only a handful, but few truly independent Australian acts have the tenacity, persistence and self belief to take itself out on the road permanently, spreading its message completely without financial backing. The Go Set have averaged more than four nights a week playing, and now make a living touring local, and overseas bands on our shores, as well as performing their own music.

The Go Set currently have a new single on the ABC's Rage program, have had their music appear of TV programs The Panel and Neighbours, and have just been added to the new series of Globe surf and skate videos.

Laughing Outlaw is thoroughly delighted to add the Go Set to their roster. If they get any more excited they'll burst!
