As a puppeteer on Sesame Street, Matt Vogel has played everything from penguins to pigs, sheep to snakes and even spent time as an eight-foot yellow bird in his twelve years on the show. But recently, Matt spent time between shooting the perennial childrenâs show as singer and bass player with his band, The Mighty Weaklings. The result is You Canât Rock Sittinâ Down, a fourteen track CD that features songs that rock out but also have something a bit more to say.

Ever since appearing on another childrenâs television program, Jackâs Big Music Show (seen on NOGGIN) with their song âRocket Shipâ, The Mighty Weaklings have been hard at work recording a CD of songs they believe will make children and parents want get on their feet, grab their air guitars and rock out!

Special guests on You Canât Rock Sittinâ Down include Jerry Nelson, veteran Muppet performer on The Muppet Show, Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock lends his voice to âGrumpy Songâ; Kiku Collins provides trumpet on âSuper Heroâ; David Stephens adds a country flair with the banjo on âGrumpy Songâ; and the cast of the Broadway show [title of show] Hunter Bell, Susan Blackwell, Heidi Blickenstaff, Jeff Bowen and the showâs director, Michael Berresse, sing background vocals on âGrumpy Songâ and âItâs Sunny When You Shareâ.

The Mighty Weaklings was formed by Sesame Street puppeteer Matt Vogel and actor/director/musician Michael Ray Escamilla and is a five-member New York City-based eclectic rock/pop band with a sense of humor and a dynamic stage show. The band is: Michael Ray Escamilla (Rhythm Guitar/Vocals), Bob D'Haene (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Bj Hemann (Drums/Percussion/Vocals), Tim McCracken (Organ/Piano/Keyboard/Vocals) and Matt Vogel (Vocals/Bass/Trumpet).

You Canât Rock Sittinâ Down was produced by Matt Vogel except âRocket Shipâ and âBug Townâ produced by Mike Rubin (composer Blueâs Clues).
