The Second String Quintet was formed in late 2006 as a result of a longtime friendship between this tight-knit five piece band. Their primary focus: Making good, honest, heartfelt music. A very productive year and a half later this six piece band has become, among other things, a group of multi- talented vocalists and instrumentalists. The addition of Michael Klooster, of Smashmouth fame, in 2007 adds yet another new dimension to an already full and vibrant sound. With their deeply human lyrics, rich harmonies, and unique blend of instruments, (banjo, guitar, ukulele, keys, bass, harmonica and drums) The Second String Quintet is steadily gaining a loyal and devout fan base. Their debut, self-titled album is a collective effort. It features cleverly crafted compositions written by the bandsâ three song writers Esteban Aguila, Antonio Borrego III a.k.a Snap Jackson and Tony Avila. The album will appeal equally to folk, soul and pop fans alike. Now out on the road promoting their album, The Second String Quintet is winning over crowds city to city with their infamous two to three hour charismatic sets.
