âAfter a fourteen years lasting process of being a passionate Singer-Songwriter, the dream of my own album has finally become real! The result of the hard but exciting last six months is my debut album âIrgendwo dazwischenâ - (Somewhere in between). The reaction and feedback is amazing!â

Musical Childhood:

Theresa Dold (24) grew up on a small farm in the Black Forest, Germany.
She began writing songs when she was only ten years old â this was when her mother showed her the first chords on the guitar. Because of her musical family-background, singing and performing was always a matter of course. The freedom of singing whenever and wherever she liked â as she tells, often along with the echo of the surrounding mountains â shaped her powerful and strongly emotional voice.

Youth:

Singing as a soloist in the Jazz/Pop/Gospel choir âVoice Eventâ, she often got the possibility to perform in front of a big audience, and of having regular gigs and competitions.
Although she had written many songs during the years, she only started playing them live in 2002. The many positive reactions encouraged her to go on and show the world what´ s inside of her. This lead to her first cooperation with a producer, who recorded her first demo in his studio, with mostly self-written songs.

The last years:

2003, after Theresa Dold had finished school, she was travelling as a backpacker in New Zealand and Australia. Back home - in 2004 - she decided to apply for different Music Academies, to study pop music.
2005 she went to Hamburg for Germanyâs most popular pop music course, called the âPopkursâ. She also won the first prize at a songwriting contest that year. After that, she started her two year musical education at the Hamburg School of Music and finally moved to Hamburg. At this time she founded her first band with other students, called the âTheresa Dold Bandâ, playing in the most important clubs and pubs in Hamburg.
Since 2007 she has the opportunity to take guitar lessons from Roland Cabezas, an internationally noted guitarist and multi-instrumentalist. He supported her on the new album. At the moment Theresa Dold is learning to play drums as her fourth instrument besides vocals, guitar and piano.

â800 km away from home, I often got homesick, although Hamburg is a very exciting city of music for me! But my roots are still grounded very deeply in the warmer and mountainous south of Germany. During the last years in Hamburg, I often had that feeling of being âsomewhere in betweenâ. Especially this feeling gave me the impulse for my debut album, called âIrgendwo dazwischenâ â (Somewhere in between)â.
Its release, launched in April 2008, was a big success - Hamburg loves it!
