Featuring the distinctive voice and song writing talent of Article Dan and the musical inspirations of Definitive Alex, The Great Distance takes its roots from influences such as Van Morrison's Astral Weeks, Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Radiohead's OK Computer, and of course the genius of Bob Dylan.

The Great Distance built their own studio on a micro budget (Swine Maid Studios). They set their own rules and deadlines. They didn't drive themselves mad worrying about becoming the next Coldplay. They recorded the album they'd always wanted to record: The Great Distance.
