Pete Fanning (John Miljan) and his men are rustling horses from the local ranchers and blameing it on a wild horse they named Wildfire. Happy Haye (Bob Steele) and Alkali Jones (Sterling Holloway) ride up on two local ranchers after they shoot Wildfire in the leg and are about to finish him off. Happy stops them and nurses the horse back to health. They ride into town to sell their horses but Fanning tells one of his men to say that the two Pintos are his and that he bought them from an indian thats been dead for 6 months so no one can say differently. Happy shows the Sheriff (Eddie Dean) his Bill of Sale and they back off. Still bent on stealing Happys horses and more local horses. Happy gets the Sheriff to deputize him and they go after Fanning and his gang.
The movie has a few spots were the film slips and sputters, but all in all a good 64 year old color movie. Eddie Dean even sings a song.
