Details:
Ash is a singer, songwriter and producer, based in London, UK. Ash spent many years as a touring musician, and âPlaying the edgeâ is his second album.
The tragedy of Katrina, the storm that ripped through New Orleans was the starting point of the album. Ash wrote a âA crime to be poorâ about the beautiful and warm people of New Orleans.
Ash was lucky enough to work with some great British musicians on the album. Marc Parnell who played drums on the album has been working with Gabriella Cimi and played on âSweet aboutâ which attained number one on the Australian music charts.
DâZal Martin who played lap steel on âDonât leave us blindâ played on Tom Robinsonâs âWar babyâ.
Damian Butcher who plays keyboards on âWork togetherâ spent many years working with âThe beautiful Southâ.
Andy Hamilton who plays Sax on âSteppin outâ worked with Sir Paul McCartney.
Paul Harvey who plays guitar on âUnder the sunâ worked with Mark Shaw of âThen Jericoâ.
Steve Simpson plays mandolin on âUnder the sunâ. Steve has worked with Ronnie Laineâs âSlim chanceâ and is currently working with Roger Chapman from âFamilyâ.
âStepping outâ features the beautiful soulful voice of Olive, who we met very briefly a few years ago. She came in, sang like an angel and then disappeared and we never even knew her surname.
Ash was also very proud to work with Ian Mouricio on bass and Krysztof Pietkiewicz on percussion.
Ray Staff who mastered David Bowieâs âSpiders from Marsâ, also mastered the album.
âDonât leave us blindâ the opening track is an uplifting rock song.
âStealing timeâ is an anti-poverty song while âlifeâs like thatâ is a quirky song that will make you smile.
In the middle of making the album, Ash broke his leg in five places and this delayed the album by a few months. If you listen carefully you can hear Ash playing the metal work in his leg on âlifeâs like thatâ.
Writing songs is a passion and a compulsion for Ash.
People who are interested in should consider this download.
