The 30 second version...
One part Americana Roots Rock, Two parts Britt Pop, and just a dash of Pinache - and you get the musical stylings of singer/songwriter Jerry Fee. A familiar, but refreshing voice - there is a sincerity in his songwriting and performance that is best understood in a live show setting. His songs have a tendency of finding their way back into your head, often days after listening. There's a careful formula here of memorable songwriting without the obvious, "I'm trying really hard to make myself commercial" feel.
A more complete history...
Jerry Fee spent over a decade adding his touch to various music endeavors before setting out on a solo path in mid-2007. After borrowing his college roommateâs guitar, Jerry taught himself to play and began writing songs by ear. He later developed his guitar skills and broadened his musical landscape through more formal training and through playing smaller shows around his college town. He formed a band with some friends and gained some local recognition before the group dissolved as each of the members went their separate ways. Despite a growing love for singing and guitar playing, Jerryâs next band called on his early musical experience as a percussionist. After spending several months behind the drum kit, Jerryâs desire to better connect with the people coming to shows drew him from the back of the stage to the front. Jerry quickly honed his engaging personality and humorous wit into a dynamic stage presence that still makes his live show a wonderful offering to his fans. He continually grew as an artist and added to his songwriting arsenal as he worked on various projects in the Northwest. He spent a year soaking in the ambiance of Nashville, Tennessee, and playing for and with various people in the music industry before returning to Boise, Idaho. Jerry briefly fronted a rock band before settling into his current solo mode. His rocker panache shines in his current acoustic project, but the softer singer-guitarist approach has given Jerryâs music a special vulnerability which leads the audience to connect more deeply with this wonderful musician.
