DESCRIPTION:

Straight from Triple Z's vinyl vault! The solo album by Bacon Brothers bass man, Paul Guzzone! It's the 80's of the rockin', good-fun, can't-stop-moving variety.

"Paul Guzzone's Dancin' Room is rousing, unpretentious bar-band boogie ... good-time, unselfconscious rock-n-roll ..." wrote Stereo Review on its release.

Dancin' Room was one of the first independently released records in New York - yes, records, remember those? Paul was inspired by the UK's punk rockers who said "to hell with the record labels" and started the indie artist trend. When Paul told his musician friends he was doing it they all looked at him as if he'd lost his mind and then said, "Yeah! Go for it!" So he put together a band of some kickin' New York musicians, had a picture taken of his dancin' shoes, and called up a pressing plant.

Dancin' Room made it to the playlists of more than 50 rock stations around the country, had a track chosen by Billboard's Top Single Picks, and got great reviews in Stereo Review, The International Music Review and other publications. It was only bumped off the air when Bill Joel released a new single and, well, he was just a little more famous so.... Not bad for a man without a label in the days when you really needed one.

From the stompin' ska title track and the percolating "Friends" to the straight-ahead rocker "Who's Gonna Love You Tonight?" these songs make it clear that this is all Paul ever wanted to do. They are the thumpin' and jumpin' tunes of a groove-meister. The EP features such amazing and now venerable New York players as The Uptown Horns, Louis Levin, Cotton Kent, Peter Bliss, and Denny McDermott.

BIO:

Paul Guzzone wears many hats in the music business. A versatile songwriter, composer, and producer, his credits range from live performance and recordings to corporate communications and broadcast spots. He's been a musician and songwriter since his first band Revival was signed to Buddha Records fresh out of high school. And he's been producing music for nearly as long as he's been playing it.

Onstage:
Paul is bass player and vocalist in the Bacon Brothers band (Michael and Kevin Bacon) and has appeared with them in concerts across the country and on national shows including "The Tonight Show," "The Today Show," "The View," "The Rosie O'Donnell Show," and Howard Stern. He also writes and performs with his wife Mary Ellen Bernard. He has performed with numerous other artists, as well, including Tom Rush, Tom Chapin, Buskin and Batteau, Emmylou Harris, and Maria Mudlaur. Before working on his solo material in the 80's he toured with the Jayne Olderman Band and he later formed the band Little Criminals which became extremely popular in the Southeast.

Producing:
Paul's album production credits include The Bacon Brothers' Can't Complain on Rounder/Universal, their I-Tunes single "Tuesday," and their live CD/DVD. He produced Days of Horses, the latest CD by the perennially popular folk duo Aztec Two-Step, and Mary Ellen Bernard's three releases, Point of Departure, Coney Island Mojo, and Bus Stop. He also contributed production work to the New York Times bestselling book/CD Philadelphia Chickens by author/illustrator Sandra Boynton and has worked, as well, on her upcoming project Dog Train.

Corporate/Commercials:
Through his company Triple Z Music Paul has created award-winning songs and underscores for broadcast promos, commercials, product launches, and other corporate events. His resume includes projects for IBM, Toyota, HBO, Time Magazine, Xerox, and other major corporations. He was previously co-owner of Sweet Potato Music and before that a composer/producer at Brielle Music.

Songwriting:
Paul stays active as a songwriter pitching his material to artists in Nashville and New York. He has a co-write with acoustic blues artist Ruthie Foster which appears on her current release Runaway Soul.
