Imagine yourself in a deep, dank, dark, hole. You try to ignite the light of your path, only to find a musty suffocating air around you, which snuffs your attempt at illumination. So was West Central FL. In the 1970âs and 80âs, hell almost all of FL. for that matter. Out of this quagmire did ye come our crew; NO FRAUD. Those boyz were weaned on something a far cry different from the corporate TV fueled âalternaâ scene of today. Hopefully youâve read and heard all the tall tales of âpunksâ getting chased and beat down, guns pulled on them etc. for being (i.e. Thinking) different. Maybe thatâs what fueled No Fraud, maybe not, itâs debatable. But whatâs not debatable is their prophetic music and truly original energetic live show. Original in the sense there was no one to learn from when they started. They just made it up as they went along and did what they felt was right, reacted the way the music made them feel, it was and is a living expression. Before âextremeâ they went beyond extreme and often paid the price and still do. This is the band many have tried to copy. Really they are. Theyâve refused record contracts with Caroline, Posh Boy, and many others. The band was never intended to be a capitalistic venture. It was meant to be fun, creative, and above all true.
