Regarding Churchianity Blues:

"I wrote this parody 30 years ago when I saw a photo of Ronald Reagan shaking hands with Jerry Falwell and a cold chill went up my spine. But the time to make it available for distribution was not then. It is now.

"Under the Bill of Rights, Christianism is certainly protected under the non-establishment clause of the First Amendment. But, sadly, as many of us know, it is not a reciprocal agreement with regard to freedom of speech (or thought) under that same amendment. The religious right will not tolerate anything but blind obedience in its quest for power.

"I agree with the revelationists that we are in the End Days. But where I radically depart company with them is my claim that what we are now in, is the end days of a decadent monotheism.

"Ecstatic fascism is now the order of the day. And the heartless, reptilian occupation of the White House for the past eight years could not have happened without the support and involvement of the religious right.

"Churchianity Blues reveals the essential fraud of this 'gawdthink,' an Orwellian doublethink implant given to us all at birth and a cultural baggage we are forced to carry all of our lives.

"Hopefully, for those who have been hurt by the effects of a God who basically is saying 'love me or I will kill you,' and a creation myth that is a curse on all humanity(!), my offering here will bring a smile to those of us who continue to endure the horror - keeping in mind that the best weapon we now have to attack a bad idea, is ridicule."
