I love to worship God ... love my wife Linda of 36 years, and I love my kids and grandkids. I love acoustic guitars, open cords with great melody lines, and songs that make me weep with joy ... I love to laugh and shout ... I am grateful and thankful and deeply in love.... I like to be in places where people keep it simple and long to know God more. I want to have more to say about Him and less about me.

My family and I live in Rhode Island, where for the past 30+ years I have been a worship leader and songwriter ... I've been allowed opportunities to minister in churches, coffee houses, festivals, prisons, barrooms, a military base in Kosovo and many places between home in Rhode Island and Eastern Europe...

Since 1982 I have played with worship teams throughout New England, recorded with Roger and Ray and for 12+ years I played and recorded with the band Brethren. One of the sweetest female singers I know, Lisa Boisclair, graced me with her voice for a year and my son Jon Tierney, a truly gifted player, worked with me for another year.

Now, as I enter a new season, I am out on my own armed with faith, the songs I have been given, and my Martin. Every now and then Iâll show up with an old friend or two like Mark McGrail and Rick Ottman.... but many times it will be just me ... I am learning to lean on God more.

My goal is to allow the Holy Spirit to create an atmosphere of worship where God can pierce our hearts and we can sense the joy of surrender before His throne. It isnât about the music, though the music should be good, it is about connecting with our Father through Jesus under the influence of His Holy Spirit and becoming more like Him, worshiping simply but simply worshiping.
