Ryzen(RISEN) is Divine Flavaâs newest artist sensation. In the dictionary THE Word risen is a past tense verb of rise which 1 of the 3 definitions specifically states to get up after being forced or thrown down. After life had thrown Ryzen to the ground leaving him with out a father of whom he was close to before passing, Ryzen decided it was time to get up and face life in a new aspect. He had turned to drugs, alcohol and violence to cope with life, which left him to face 2-4 years in adult prison at the age of 17. With no other options left, Ryzen had been invited to attend a drama that was hosted by Victory Outreach with performances by a hip hop ministry called S.T.R.A.P.P.E.D. Ministries. The message being delivered by this ministry had truly inspired Ryzen from the combination of positive rap to the true interpretation of Ryzenâs life; he decided to make a spiritual commitment to himself and GOD.
Ryzen started to focus his daily events around bible studies, church service, and most importantly positive Christian fellowship. On November 4, 2003 Ryzen had to face his court date where he was to be sentenced to prison for past crimes. Ryzen then prayed a heart drenching prayer and was released with yet another chance on intensive supervised probation. Grateful for his release he went home and flushed his drugs, got rid of his alcohol and continued to surround himself and fellowship with those involved in S.T.R.A.P.P.E.D. Ministries. After being risen from his old self and lifestyle he found his new name in Christ (Ryzen). Always being interested in music and the production process he pursued a career in gospel music, creating music for his creator and deliverer the only God, Jesus Christ.
A year and a half later Ryzen finished his debut album âVerbal Fire,â
with hit singles such as âKeep Onâ, âHe liesâ and âRaise yo Handsâ, featuring
hit recording artists such as MVP and Rollah. Ryzen is currently working on his sophomore album called âLyrical H20âto be released on Divine Flava Records in 2008. He is currently performing concerts locally as well as nationally. He also performs at detention facilities, schools and group homes ministering the change that took place in his life. Ryzen has his music in a number of stores in Colorado Springs and is well known in the streets of his city.
Through Ryzenâs devotion to Jesus Christ he serves in many capacities through hip hop music and ministering to the streets. He has since taken on the role as a volunteer working with a Faith based non-profit ministry called G-L.I.F.E. Outreach who reaches out to urban âat-riskâ youth in Colorado Springs. Ryzen is maturing as an artist every time he gets behind the microphone and he will proceed with perfecting his skills until God says to stop. From verbal fire to Lyrical H20 Ryzen is heating up hearts and cooling off tempers.
