Health Tips: How To Stay Young
|
As far as diet goes, its a well known fact that the best food is natural and balanced produce. Fresh vegetables, whole grains, and fresh fruits are included in most healthy diets. Beans are pretty good for us too, and also nuts in moderation. Furthermore, just about any foods that contain omega-3 fatty acids are excellent for the health. A lot of people dont know this but eggs which come from free range chickens contain omega-3 fatty acids? Now, omega-3 fatty acids are also found in many cold water fish and in pecorino cheese. Red wine in moderation is also touted by some octogenarians as a key to living longer but like all alcoholic beverages it has to be in moderation.
Three sure things to shorten your life span are excess alcohol consumption, smoking and being highly stressed. That said, small amounts of alcohol can be beneficial (especially red wine) however excess consumption can cause a multitude of medical problems. Managed stress is fine but too much stress in your life can cause your heart rate to overwork and cause your immune system to decrease. Stress can also lead you to indulge in negative habits like drinking and smoking in an attempt to lower your stress levels. If this happens to you, do something else immediately to break your pattern.
If you want to live longer, start by improving your attitude toward all aspects of your life. It has been well established that being an optimist will add more than seven years to your lifespan. Your habitually cheerful outlook can actually boost your immune system and reduce the probability of contracting various diseases.
