Details:
Falif is a crazed reclusive genius. He's a stunning visual artist - amazing oil painter - but that's not what you're here about, is it?

"Episode II: Dugbo Phantom" is Falif's second album. On this album, Falif plays bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keyboards, and all sorts of percussion. Oh, he's also the singer. And the producer. He's the one wearing the fez on the album cover. Which he painted.

'Dugbo Phantom' is the name of the core band, which includes Jeff and me. (I'm the one with the drumsticks.)

This album is incredibly diverse. It rocks, it funks, it smooths out with some great acoustic tunes (including a cover of The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again"), and then it trips out with some cool weird noise pieces.

In a time of Orwellian hysteria, this album is a positive spin... all your favorite global issues included!

ALBUM REVIEW - JERSEY BEAT MAGAZINE, ISSUE 75

This group hails from the Montpelier area of Vermont, under the tutelage of Falif Hagopian. Over the course of its 70+ minutes, the CD walks a gray line between acid rock, jazz, fusion, and funk. And they have their stuff, in the studio or live, both of which are represented here. Whether musically or lyrically, they are at the top of their game, with sharp riffs and smart wordings ("Ain't gonna make Top 40 this way.../ watching our lives just slipping away/ While I listen to what the radio plays"). With a centerpiece of their interpretation of the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again", making it their own, Falif and group stretch their chops to the listener's delight.
