Melvin is a musician and songwriter, who at the early age of 16, performed in bands and singing groups. He played in restaurants and nightclubs in the Washington, D.C area from 1966 until his radical conversion in 1988. At the age of 13, he gave his heart to the Lord in a small Baptist church in Merrifield, Virginia. At that time, he told the Lord he wanted to be a preacher of His Word. Within a year the world had captured his heart and he walked away from God.

Drugs and alcohol controlled his life and destiny from 1972 until God's grace and mercy came again in 1988. While playing in a club in Rockville, Maryland, the Lord touched his life and from that point on he would never be the same.

Melvin re-dedicated his life to the Lord and within the first year he received his minister's license with the Independent Assemblies of God through which he is still licensed. He has served as youth leader with Centreville Assembly of God, Associate Pastor with Power Tabernacle church in Chantilly, held Saturday services at the Birmingham Green Nursing Home in Manassas and played with several church worship teams.

In 1996, God joined him with an evangelist friend, who had just returned to the area from Pensacola, Florida. They began to minister together in the Northern Virginia area. The Lord made it clear the He wanted to do a work in Centreville and the region. God said, He would raise up a lighthouse to the nations and He was jealous for His bride. He would pierce the enemy and cause His beloved to turn back to Him

When Melvin's evangelist friend went back to Pensacola in 1998, the Lord spoke to Melvin to go to Christian Life Centre in Chantilly, to sit and wait on Him for a season. During this time, he joined their praise and worship team. God knit together his heart with the worship leader, David Goddard. God began calling them deeper and as they responded, the Lord's presence would pour into them, like a river, an intimacy they had not previously known. Their passion for Jesus and His love would overwhelm them to the point where they could no longer play but could only be still in His presence. God's purposes and plans were revealed to them during these times of intimacy.

God birthed His Glory Ministries on Feb 11, 2000, and its purpose is to proclaim the glory of the Lord in our communities, our nation's capital and the world. God responds to the heart of worship, which is a humble and contrite heart. The heart of His Glory Ministries is dedicated to pleasing God. It is a ministry led of His Spirit to do His will on earth as it is in heaven.
