Harvey Moon is his own man entirely, a gifted singer/songwriter with none of the pretensions or
histrionics that plague so many songwriters. Due to that lack of egoism, Harvey Moon is post modern in the best sense, both lyrically and musically.
4 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Acoustic, BLUES: Acoustic Blues
Details:
"He's different, like everyone else who is different...He is not the same." - Jeffrey Brayne
"Harvey Moon is his own man entirely, a gifted singer/songwriter with none of the pretensions or histrionics that plague so many persons who reference the music of the late 60's and early 70's. Due to that lack of egoism, Harvey Moon is post modern in the best sense, both lyrically and musically" - WNTI Radio
Opening song December Moon's propulsiveness and syncopated rhythms, is a cool blending of various English folk rock stylings but presented in a more modern, rockier, poppier vein. Flame offers some of the deft minor key modulations that suck you into it's vortex in a seductively insinuating manner. Lost At Sea has some attractive finger picking on acoustic guitar, reminding me a bit of John Renbourn, and veers away from triteness with twists down darker alleyways. Nice musical colors and textures on this song that don't hit you over the head but instead tickle your ear into taking a closer listen. Man On The Edge's slightly distorted acoustic guitar opening is nicely counterpointed by an acidic electric guitar line that perfectly captures the meaning of the lyric.
Still Bard combines insightful lyrics, the easy vocal tones of British Singer-Songwriter Harvey Moon and the effortless orchestration of composer Darren Wilsey.
