The swinging Lou Haskins Orchestra swings to a simular sound of Glen Miller, Count Basie, Harry James, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Tommy & Jimmy Dorsey and all of the many other swinging big bands.
20 MP3 Songs
JAZZ: Big Band, JAZZ: Swing/Big Band
Details:
Some very famous big band leaders recorded swing style boogies. Tommy Dorsey had a big hit with "Boogie Woogie". His brother, Jimmy Dorsey later released a tremendous number entitled "J.D.S Boogie"
the boogie woogie style was first played on the piano and as some historians say....probably by a wonderful piano man by the name of "Cow Cow Davenport." Mr. Davenport wrote a tune by the name of "Cow Cow Boogie," which is a real knock-out, (see Lou Haskins Orchestra "CD Hi-Hat") but he sold the rights to the song outright. Therefore, his name is not on the credits of the song. Anyway, the boogie beat is a fantastic rhythm, which is played to the swing style of "eight to the bar".....that is bound to stir your music senses.
