The Lou Haskins Orchestra plays music of the Big Band Era recorded with the latest technology, with the full compliment of "REED', "BRASS',and 'RHYTHM' sections.
Original instrumental orchestrations were carefully chosen in regard to the best composers and arrangers. These were recorded, for the most part, in their orginal length, which was the authors intention. The Rhythm Section, you will notice, is keeping the time and the typical "Swing" beat, which at one time was stated as "beat me daddy eight to the bar" (quote from drummer Ray McKinley). The Reed Section (two Alto Sax's--two Tenor Sax's--and a Baritone Sax) help bring in the beautiful sounds of Glenn Miller. The Brass
section (three Trombones and three Trumpets) add the proper balance, accents, and downright SWING to the fabulous arrangements.
