Details:
Colm Heaney is a Dublin based singer-songwriter/guitarist and Exploits of Heroes and Villains is his first commercial album release in Ireland.

Exploits of Heroes and Villains contains 13 original titles and one classic cover version 'Dancing In The Moonlight' by Thin Lizzy. This collection of songs is the culmination of 12 years of highly personal and revealing song writing by Colm, some of the songs being penned in his teens.

The album follows the release of 'Dancing in the Moonlight' as a single last month. The single has received good airplay and Colm received a lovely email from Philomena Lynnot saying she liked the version very much. Colm is currently working on a video for the second featured song from the album, 'Hey Little Girl'

Colm, who hails from Warrenpoint, County Down, Northern Ireland, spent a few years in the US honing his skills, playing solo acoustic gigs in coffee shops and doing support slots, before returning to Ireland to search for some musicians to round out the sound. The usual demo process threw up some interesting collaborations and resulted in one particular track, Sometime Soon reaching the final 3 in the folk category of the prestigious John Lennon Song writing Contest in New York

Colm and his fellow musicians, Ray Fagan (bass), Graham Dunne (drums) and Richard Speedie (keyboards and producer), decided to form their own production company, Landing Productions, to finance and release their music. The album was recorded in Dublin between February and June of 2004 and features performances from one of Ireland's premier electric guitarists, Bill Shanley, as well as Alan Smale, with members of the National Symphony Orchestra.

Colm and the band have gigged regularly in Dublin as well as supporting the likes of The Pretenders, Vonda Shepard and Sharon Shannon.
