Rising from the streets of New York City, Sweetie may look like a pretty combination of girls with enigmatic curves and sweet smiles, but this all-female hard rock band is an exotic blend of beauty, talent and deadly charm. Ifé Mora leads the group with in your face lyrics that make heads bob and stomachs turn with excitement. Backed by RebelTec on bass and lead keyboards, and second vocals, plus, drummer, Viveca, this duo delivers erotic, sexy live performances with a hardcore, metal, melodic and classical sound thatâs all their own. Their influence is as diverse as New York City, ranging from Heart to System of a Down. While at first glance, they may resemble Destinyâs Child, the only thing this group is destined for is dominance on the rock stage. In Ifé you find a formally trained classical vocalist who dominates the stage and commands the audienceâs attention at every show. She is currently training in rhythm guitar. Born in Detroit, Michigan, to Mexican and Black American jazz musicians, Francisco Mora and Teresa Mora, she grew up around and worked with musicians such as Sun Ra, Max Roach, Chris Brann, Derrick May and Carl Craig. Ife was signed to Trickyâs record label Durban Poison/ Dream Works S.K.G and has been featured in Details, One World, The Source and Vibe magazines. RebelTec is a classically trained pianist as well as jazz musician who dominates the melodic sound of Sweetie by playing two keyboards and singing back-up vocals on stage.
