Details:
It was in the Pyrenees that Susan began performing. In the streets of Pau, busking her way through France, then into Greece, by herself and sometimes with gypsies and with men with wild spirits and old drums. Singing of pirates and unsettled souls and bad love, returning from France, a place she never really left at all, she has settled into the Midwest, writing and performing and travelling and coming home again.

Playing guitar and piano and an accordion she bought at a sale, Susan sings in English and in French; a song here and there in Arabic or Spanish, Portuguese or Hebrew. Sometimes she doesn't sing at all, but just plays--plays so well that a fellow musician once commented after watching her: "Those chords aren't even on my guitar."

With two CDs, "Quiet Cave" and "In the Attic", and another one soon to be released, Susan's original compositions deal with outlaws and spirits, drums and flowers, trains and travelling, asses and aunts, betrothals and betrayals, and the long tentative trip down the stairs. In her music, in her, you'll hear what Chagall meant, where women went wrong, and why the South Pacific drove everyone from Captain Bly to Brando insane.
