We offer our second volume played live in an intimate setting. I'm so pleased to have you hear Richard again. He grows constantly. His ideas, expressivity and technical abilities are formidable. Mark is a wonderful addition to our trio. You'll hear his fabulous sounds, his interesting and courageous solos, and feel his and my joy in grooving with Richard.
The members of our trio are musicians who have music backgrounds of every nature- classical, contemporary symphonic
and chamber, theater, pop, soul, ethnic and more. As with many fine jazz musicians, these affinities are expressed in our performance.
I present some of the elements that are involved in our trio. We respond to each other personally and musically in a positive manner. Listening carefully is a natural component of our musical existence, and musical ideas expressed by one are connected with, developed, and stated in our own personal manner, consistent with the role played by the particular instrument at that point, or, as often happens, individual ideas and feelings are presented contrapuntally.
Thus, with command of our instruments, a knowledge of form,( along with self - restraint), we are able to achieve the freedom of self- expression and enjoy the beauty of collective creation
