Details:
AsproDolce consists of Jolle Greenleaf, soprano, and Hank Heijink, lutes. They met in 2005 and began their cooperation with a series of concerts in France and the Netherlands. Three years later, they have performed together in many venues across the United States, in Panama and in Costa Rica. 'Songs of Love & Loss' is their first CD together.

Hailed as "a golden soprano" by the New York Times,
Jolle Greenleaf has established herself as a leading specialist in repertoire from the 17th and 18th centuries. She completed her Masterâs degree at the Mannes College of Music, and soon after received the coveted Beebe Fellowship to study at The Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Netherlands. Upon returning to New York, Ms. Greenleaf has built a career performing with illustrious period instrument conductors such as Martin Gester, Bernard LaBadie, Ton Koopman, Andrew Parrott, John Scott, and Jeannette Sorrell.
Known for her expressiveness on stage, she is often engaged as a recitalist and has performed a variety of roles including Belinda in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, Amour and Céphise in Rameau's Pygmalion, Licori in Vivaldi's La Fida Ninfa, and in the title role in Cavalli's La Calisto. She is frequently heard in baroque masterworks including J.S. Bach's B Minor Mass, Christmas and Easter Oratorios, Magnificat, St. Matthew and St. John Passions, John Blow's Venus and Adonis, Handel's Jephtha and Messiah, Monteverdi's Vespers of 1610, Purcell's King Arthur and Fairy Queen and with many ensembles and orchestras such as Apollo's Fire, Concert Royal, Folger Consort, Harvard Collegium, New York Collegium, NYS Baroque, Parthenia, Phoenix Symphony, Spiritus Collective, Trinity Consort, and Vox Vocal Ensemble. Ms. Greenleaf is accomplished in the vocal music of J.S. Bach and has appeared in over 90 Bach cantata and motet performances in New York and beyond. In 2005, she made her debut at Carnegie's Zankel Hall singing Bach's Trauer Ode under Ton Koopman.

As a member of the Tiffany Consort, she can be heard on a variety of virtuoso programs, on their Grammy nominated CD O Magnum Mysterium, and on In Sure and Certain Hope (released in December 2006). During the 2007-2008 season, she completed performances of J.S. Bach's St. Matthew Passion and Jauchzet Gott (Cantata 51), Mozart's Vespers, a program of Buxtehude, Bach and Handel under John Scott at St. Thomas Church Fifth Avenue, and a Christmas program of works by Praetorius with Apollo's Fire. In addition, she performed with her own ensemble AsproDolce including a country-wide tour of Costa Rica, and offered recitals in Denver and the New York area with organist Christian Lane premiering Nicholas White's new song cycle From Earth to Heaven, which was written for them.

After completing degrees in computer science, classical guitar, and a Ph.D. in social sciences, Hank Heijink studied lute and theorbo at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. He was the first theorbo player chosen to tour with the European Union Baroque Orchestra, whose conductors included Roy Goodman, Paul Goodwin, and Fabio Biondi. During that year he toured many of the major early music festivals and venues throughout Europe and Japan. Mr. Heijink has performed with leading European ensembles including the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, the Netherlands Bach Society, the Amphion Ensemble, Quintus, the Utrecht Baroque Consort, the Dutch Bach Ensemble, the French Orchestre dâAuvergne, and the Holland Symphonia. He made his American debut in the fall of 2005 at Carnegieâs Zankel Hall in a performance of three Bach cantatas including the Trauerode under Ton Koopman.

Mr. Heijink has performed Bachâs St. John Passion and Easter Oratorio under John Scott at St. Thomas Church Fifth Avenue with Concert Royal, and Purcellâs King Arthur and Monteverdiâs Vespro della Beata Vergine (1610) at Trinity Wall Street with REBEL. He has toured the United States with the Mark Morris Dance Group in their production of Purcellâs Dido and Aeneas. He is working with The Wooster Group on their production of La Didone (music by Francesco Cavalli) which has traveled Belgium, the Netherlands, and the Edinburgh Festival in the United Kingdom. This season, the show travels to Luxembourg and Lisbon, Portugal. With his own ensemble AsproDolce, he gave performances and master classes in Costa Rica and Panama, and this summer AsproDolce returns to Costa Rica for their International Music Festival.
