Christian's new CD entitled Gouy Tree was recorded in Dakar, Senegal, West Africa in the summer of 2002 at Studio DOGO. All of the musicians on this record Christian met within a few days of stepping of the plane. He rented a studio by the sea that spilled music for a solid month. Just outside of the studio door, three goats roamed freely in the courtyard. Every day, every couple of hours, tea was served. The sun was very strong, like the tea. The ocean was always just to the left,or just to the right, lined with beautiful beaches. On the other side of the ocean was home.
Christian has been a musician since age seven. He started his first band at the age of twelve called TNT. In college he played around in his friends basement covering Pink Floyd tunes. The influence can be heard in his style today even though at that time he was playing the drums. After extensive travel and a book full of songs and lyrics, Christian formed the band Earth Tone, which gained a large following with Phish like harmonies, rythem/lead guitars and jimba. He performes now as a soloist with 6 & 12 stringed guitars, harmonica and what some say one of the most soalful voices of our time.
Some of his most influential times took place in Telluride and Boulder, CO. Here, Christian was social with such bands as The Samples, Big Head Todd, Dinosaur Jr., Blues Traveler and Accoustic Junction.
Now it seems to be the time for Chris with his fresh, new, raw and beautiful music. His songwriting envelopes many different styles. Like Beck or Peter Gabriel, Christian shows no boundries. "Alternative/Folk that dares to question."
